School Council
Our school council is made up of children who represent all the classes from year 2 to year 6. They were democratically elected by their classes. Their aims are:
- To be the pupil voice
- To make sure everything is fair
- To improve the school
- To help keep the school safe
- To take a lead role in fundraising
Term 3 Update
On Friday, the School Council met to discuss how our school keeps us safe. We also completed a pupil voice questionnaire to help identify next steps and solutions to make our school even safer.
An action for our next meeting is to discuss the anti-bullying policy and suggest ways to improve the document.
Term 2 Update
The School Council met to discuss ways to improve our celebration assembly. We had a discussion about changing the time and day when our assembly takes place. The overall feeling was that it should stay on a Friday afternoon.
We also discussed what should happen to the children who are awarded a certificate. The feeling was that the celebrated children could sit at the front of the hall and a positive example for the rest of the school.
The School Council also wanted to bring back the attendance song of the week. This is where the class who has the best attendance of the week gets to choose the song that is played at the beginning and end of the assembly.
Term 1 Update
School council representatives have been chosen by each class from years 2-6. We introduced ourselves and discussed how we viewed our roles on the School Council.
Our first action was to discuss the school's development plan and identify next steps for the future. There were suggestions about ways to improve the playground and how to make lessons even better.
